Waynesville Wins Thriller in 2nd Round Tournament Game

Waynesville battled back when things looked bleak Wednesday against the Dixie Greyhounds. Losing 4-2 in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Spartans found a way to come back and advance to the sectional finals next week against Fenwick at Carlisle High School. Noah McGillivray’s two out bases loaded single in the bottom of the seventh gave Waynesville a walk off win in thrilling fashion. A.J. Lezotte and Andrew Magoto both scored with Magoto being the winning run. Ty Black was the starting pitcher and went the first four innings only allowing one run.
