Boys Youth Basketball Clinic

The boys youth clinic will be divided up into 2 different days and age groups. On Tuesday, June 4, the clinic will be from 1:00-3:00 for grades k-2 of the 2012-13 school year. Pre-registration is highly encouraged in order to have the correct tshirt sizes for the participants. The cost is $30 and each participant will receive a camp tshirt and camp basketball. Registration at the door will start at 12:30. On Wednesday, June 5, the clinic will be from 1:00-3:00 for grades 3-6 of the 2012-13 school year.

Please Join Us…3nd Annual Waynesville Alumni Boys/Girls Basketball Benefit Game for Hazel Brown and Family: Hazel's husband Michael has a rare autoimmune neurological disorder called Stiff Person Syndrome. This disorder has an incidence of about 1 in 1,000,000 world-wide. SPS is an alternating rigidity and spasticity of the muscles, tremors, anxiety, and a hyper-excitability of muscles (known as the startle reflex). Emotional stress or even a gentle touch is known to cause prolonged, often severe, spasms. The result of constant spasms is unrelenting pain and commonly, eventual disability.

Boys Basketball Wrap Up

The boys basketball teams finished up their season with the end of the year banquet at the Kettering Presidential Banquet Hall before spring break. Congratulations to the following players receiving special recognition awards: freshman orange and black award went to Chase Struewing, JV orange and black award went to Justin Fowler, Varsity orange and black award went to Shelby Dermer. Varsity outstanding offensive player went to Brian Behymer. Varsity most valuable player award went to Ty Black.

Waynesville Girls and Boys Basketball Ranked 4th in Ohio Academically

The Waynesville Boys and Girls Basketball teams had 15 players qualify for the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association Academic awards. The awards go to Juniors and Seniors that earn a varsity letter and have a 3.3 and above grade point average. Waynesville had 15 players qualify for the award which ranked Waynesville fourth in the state.

Boys Basketball Finishing up Season

The boys basketball teams will be wrapping up the season by honoring their athletes at the end of the year banquet on March 19 at the Kettering Presidential Banquet Center in Kettering at 6:30. The boys and girls teams will both eat together and then separate into each teams own ceremonies. Tickets for friends and family are $12 each. The meal will be served at 6:45 with awards to follow.
